The tour begins at Prideaux Place, an Elizabeth Manor House and home to the Prideaux Brune family. The house has become a popular location in Rosamunde Pilcher productions, featuring in “The Shell Seekers”, “Winds across the sea” and “Coming Home”. Guided tours of the house are available, and the gardens and Deer Park free to wander.
Continuing our tour, we stroll down to the nearby fishing village of Padstow for lunch before following the Camel River to Wadebridge and on to Pencarrow House, the home of the Molesworth-St Aubyns family and the setting featured in “The Weekend” and “The Red Dress”. Much of the house and gardens are open to the public.
Our final stop for the day takes us to “Nancherrow’s” railway station. Here you have the option to travel the line by steam train on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway before returning to your accommodation.
